The Invitation

The Invitation

It’s not often a painting title and story come to me clearly before the painting itself. It’s such a beautiful thing when it does. I knew I wanted to paint a large Aspen painting but just could not “see” it. Feeling frustrated and creatively stifled I got into prayer, reading, and started journaling once again over a period of days. Why do I stop writing when I am so often spoken to when my pen moves? Through this process, “The Invitation” came clearly into view and then these words. “Seeing the pure beauty before us, aren’t we invited in, does our heart not long, even ache, to step within, to be enveloped, to experience, to become one with “the beauty”? Is it not a picture of a greater call placed deep within our hearts, a longing, for the beauty of creation, of the creator Himself?” Then stepping before my canvas and my photos I could clearly “see” the vision given me, the one meant for “The Invitation”. How do I express my deep gratitude for this? In the only way I know how, by sharing her with you.
