One of my favorite blooms in my desert garden is the Argentine Giant, native to Argentine near the Monte desert.  Her arms sprawl across the ground and over rock features. This cactus has incredible blooms up to 8 inches in diameter and is wonderfully fragrant. She is a night bloomer, with her flowers at full bloom around midnight. The bright white petals, with yellow centers, often attract moths, bats, and morning bees. The blooms are so fleeting, so get up early and be on the lookout! You don’t want to miss these beauties as they won’t last long when the sun hits them. Blooms last only 24 hours, if that. Sometimes on a cloudy day we can enjoy the gift of their beauty longer.
