Greer is such a beautiful little village, nestled in the heart of the White Mountains, at an altitude of 8500 feet. Every season is a delightful paradise from the green meadows and flowers of spring, the refreshing mountain air and mild temperatures of summer, to the fiery leaves of fall and a magical winter playground. Through all of this winds the mighty waters of the Little Colorado River. Surrounding the river are lush forests, wildflowers and abundant wildlife.
I was taken by this river, the life of it, visiting in all seasons and love spending time exploring and hanging out with friends. As I stood here on the bank I reflected on a book I am reading, one about living in a state of thankfulness, no matter the circumstances around you. Look for the gifts and blessings that surround you each day. Wherever you are, be all there. Today, I am all here, thankful for the gift of standing on this bank, watching the sun filter through the trees and glisten on the snow. I listen to birdsong and the rushing of the water overs the rocks. May the waters of the river bless you.
