Stepping into the Aspen grove my heart sings to the rhythm of their brilliant quaking leaves. This is one of my favorite sounds, not only transporting me back to long ago memories, but beckoning me forward deeper into the wilderness simultaneously.

There are powerful lessons to be learned from Aspens. Did you know they have an interconnected root system? The Pando grove in Utah is the largest living organism which spans more than 100 acres! Above ground it appears each tree is an individual on its own, how far from the truth! We too are not meant to do life alone and isolated but living in a rich community, interconnected with others, doing life together we are stronger and supported.

Aspen trees have a significant regenerative ability, reproducing from small shoots growing from the parent tree’s massive root system. Even after a fire has swept through, life often prevails.

Similarly when we find our people, our community, we can share, bond, and grow stronger even amidst the storms. We become resilient and adaptable, impacting the world around us for good.
