Welcoming the Day
Long time collectors, Deb and Terry asked me to create a large painting for their dining room about two years ago. They just were not sure what they wanted. They were about to explore the state and I suggested they take a lot of photos and come up with something that has special meaning to them. Recently, their son was hiking near their home on the trails around Tom’s Thumb in Scottsdale. Hikers are treated to gorgeous views of the southern McDowell Mountains and Phoenix. The trail is managed by Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Conservancy. He captured a breathtaking sunrise over the desert. This was it! We worked together to come up with the right format and composition. I greatly enjoyed bringing their special painting, Welcoming the Day, to life on canvas for them!
Deb & Terry say, “Well Lucy, you have done it again! Terry & I couldn’t be happier to be adding another wonderful piece of yours to our wonderful collection!”
