Spring Rains

Spring is the most beautiful time in the desert, and it is especially so in the rare years when we have a very wet winter. Because of these perfect conditions, we were blessed to experience a superbloom, where wildflowers explode profusely, blanketing the mountain slopes and valley floors. Golden poppies and Lupine were plentiful around the state and near Bartlett Lake as I went exploring, enveloped in the beauty. How hard it was to believe that just two weeks before I was out exploring here hiking through six to twelve inches of snow! We had a snow storm for the record books throughout the state and down well into our beautiful Sonoran desert. What incredibly beautiful extremes!
