Hope and Blessing

Richard and I recently spent over a week at our cabin up on the Mogollon Rim. What a special place for us, truly a place of hope and blessing in our lives. What slowing down and spending time in nature does for ourselves and our marriage is wonderful. Whether we are exploring deep into the forest, floating gently on the lake surrounded with cliff walls, or sitting on the deck watching the rain fall it relaxes, recharges, and centers us. I knew being up there for that long I would want to spend some time painting.  Each year I love to create a painting that will become my newest Christmas card. I was having a vision of a red cardinal on the snowy branches, a beacon in the icy winter wonderland. This painting was created not only from life painting out on the deck, photos from up there taken in heavy snow, and my inner vision as well. I shall call her Hope and Blessing, a beautiful Christmas wish to be sure!
