Wild And Free
“Wild and Free,”
In continuation of my Salt River horse series, we came across these majestic beauties grazing around the bend.
Our kayak drifted slowly, barely noticeable. Trees gently danced in the warm breeze, as the sun caressed my shoulders. Birds called to each other across the river.
There’s such peace experienced where the water nourishes. I pray these horses stay wild and free in this desert oasis.
As you may know, there’s much controversy about these historic and iconic Salt River horses. Some feel that the horse population should be dramatically reduced, and others disagree. Read more on the issue here, and get involved if it’s laid on your heart:
