Where The River Nourishes

Paddling down the Salt River in my kayak, cool refreshing water splashes gently against my sun warmed skin. Trees sway and the birds call as water laps the shore. At times my adrenaline rises through the rapids, then drops as the river becomes serene once again. It is then I can immerse myself in the scenery around me. Wild mustangs appear grazing along the shore, pausing for a cool drink. What a gift and a delight to my senses.
My mind wanders to the nourishment of the river, a promise teeming with life bringing refreshment, abundance, and hope. River symbolism evokes feelings of tranquility and joy, the presence of God and His continuous flow refreshing our spirits.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters.” – Psalm 23:2
Where the river flows there is life, may we seek to protect this sanctuary and habitat, including the iconic Salt River wild horses.
