Vibrant Ladies

Santa Rita prickly pear cactus bring to mind beauty, power, and resilience. Her pads are blue grey in the summer, edged with purple. When stressed by cold temperatures or drought they become even more striking as they turn a brilliant fuscia purple, decorating our desert landscape.

Then her gorgeous blooms appear starting with reds and peaches, slowly opening to vibrant yellows. The contrast of these stunning flowers against purple pads is breathtaking. Such a gift, this beauty emerging through harsh conditions.
