Lazy Afternoon

There is nothing quite like floating across sparkling waters, listening to the breeze rustling through the pine trees while feeling the gentle warmth of the sun on your shoulders. I lean over the edge dragging my fingers through the cool waters watching the ripples form and recede. Blue green dragonflies take flight from the piece of driftwood floating nearby. They dance across the lake in our own private performance. All the cares of the week drift away and peace settles in, ahh a deep breath of fresh air! We float along mesmerized by the beauty and life surrounding us, exploring each twist and turn. When ready for lunch we search for that perfect secluded picnic area where we pull up the canoe, spread our blanket and open a delicious picnic basket of cheese and crackers, grapes and a wonderful bottle of white wine. Life is good!
