Apricot Glow
One of the most luscious and spectacular Argentine Giant (Echinopsis) hybrids is the “Apricot Glow”. I have many of the traditional white varieties and then acquired both the yellow and the fuchsia hybrids, each a dazzling addition to my desert gardens. Yet laying eyes on this stunning varietal excited me to no end! I am on the hunt to add her soon as well! These notably beautiful blooms arrive late spring or early summer in multiple shades of yellow to a burnt orange apricot. Her outer petals are darker from orange red to reddish purple. If you are fortunate enough to catch these beauties, stop and marvel while you can as they are night bloomers fading as the sun touches them. You have a small window of just a day or two before they are gone.
