Firelight

Firelight

The sunsets of the desert southwest are often so fiery vibrant, washing everything aglow with firelight! I see it so often here and yet each time it is such a gift. When clouds are near the horizon they are filled with such color as the sun sinks lower. I enjoy watching these shades shift and change before me from deep violets and reds and fiery yellows and oranges then to the more distant and cooler blues and purples that prevail. The dance of light across the foliage and desert floor are washed similarly. I love the way the back lighting catches just the tips of the leaves. Don’t look away too quickly for in a moment it will be gone and darkness comes… but only for a time…
