Reach for the Sky

Reach for the Sky was inspired by these incredible red blooming Prickly Pear, and how much fun I had painting them for the first time in my painting titled Joyful. I cannot seem to get enough of them and smile each time they catch my eye.

The petals are so vibrant reaching out ever further to touch the sky. The warmth of the sun beckons them forth; spring is here awakening them from their long slumber. A sign of rebirth and renewal comes to the desert, a reminder to us all that seasons change… some of them difficult, maybe even dark, but joy and light and beauty return once more. Hold on to these gifts and remember.
